Don't want to take pressure of performing well: KirtiMumbai, Nov 11 (IANS) Actress Kirti Kulhari is elated that her critically-acclaimed film “Uri: The Surgical Strike” and short film “Maya” will be showcased at the upcoming 50th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

“Uri: The Surgical Strike”, the war-based drama that traces the real-life events of the 2016 Uri attack and its aftermath, will be showcased in the Indian panorama section, which is a flagship section for bringing the best of contemporary Indian feature as well as non-feature films.

“Uri: The Surgical Strike”, which also featured Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam, is under the sub-section titled “Mainstream Cinema” and “Maya” is under the non-feature section.

“It is huge acknowledgment that two of my works have been selected in one of the leading film festivals in India. And seeing that this is the golden jubilee of IFFI, this achievement is even more special,” Kirti said.

“It shows how, as an industry, we have grown to accept different mediums of storytelling and the complex characters we portray in them. I am so proud to have been part of these films. I am looking forward to seeing the response of people who will watch these films at IFFI,” she added.

The 2019 Golden Jubilee edition of the film fest will be held from November 20 till November 28 at Panjim, Goa.
